Bradley Cooper Open to ‘The Hangover 4’ and Ready to Join “In an Instant”
While Bradley Cooper has been focusing on more serious roles recently, the Maestro star remains open to revisiting his iconic role as Phil in The Hangover series.
Cooper expressed his enthusiasm for reprising his role in the 2009 comedy directed by Todd Phillips, where he starred alongside Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, and Jeffrey Tambor.
“I would probably do Hangover 4 in an instant,” Cooper revealed on The New Yorker Radio Hour. “Just because I love Todd, I love Zach, I love Ed so much, I probably would.”
Despite Cooper’s willingness to return, he doubts that the director would be interested in another sequel.
“I don’t think Todd is ever going to do that,” Cooper added.
The Hangover follows the story of Phil (Cooper), Stu Price (Helms), Alan Garner (Galifianakis), and Doug Billings (Bartha) as they head to Las Vegas for Doug’s bachelor party. After a wild night, they wake up to find Doug missing and have no recollection of the previous night’s events.
The film was a massive success, grossing over $469 million worldwide. It spawned two sequels: The Hangover Part II in 2011 and The Hangover Part III in 2013.
In 2021, Galifianakis humorously speculated about a potential fourth installment during an interview with Extra.
“Maybe if they made it a Pixar version… a family-friendly version,” he joked. “I don’t think anybody has been thinking about that.”
