Bask in the majesty of this £500k fully-electric Rolls-Royce

Lunaz, a company specializing in electrifying classic cars, has recently unveiled its latest creation, a fully-electric restoration of the 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom V. This magnificent vehicle represents a fusion of timeless elegance and sustainable technology, making it a true marvel.

The restoration process involves stripping the car down to its base metal, meticulously scanning and weighing each component, and then undertaking a comprehensive restoration. The original drivetrain, which was designed to be as silent as possible, is replaced with a powerful 120kWh battery pack. This advanced battery technology, kept under wraps by Lunaz, promises a range of over 300 miles. Additionally, every Rolls-Royce Phantom V comes equipped with modern features such as satellite navigation, WiFi, infotainment systems, and discreetly integrated charging ports. The brakes, steering, suspension, and electronics are also upgraded and thoroughly tested to ensure optimal performance.

The interior of the Phantom V is a sight to behold. It boasts a luxurious two-tone paint scheme, premium leather upholstery, and the meticulously restored original woodwork from 1961, adorned with rose gold inlays. Inside the cabin, passengers will find a pair of screens behind the privacy division, a fully-equipped bar service, and seating for up to eight people. With such opulence and spaciousness, who needs an SUV?

Lunaz’s commitment to preserving automotive beauty goes beyond the Phantom V. They have also electrified the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, offering both fixed head and drophead styles across the Silver Cloud I, II, and III models. Priced at £350,000, these models feature an 80kWh battery pack, providing a range exceeding 300 miles.

David Lorenz, the CEO of Lunaz, emphasizes the company’s mission to carry on the legacy of the “best car in the world” through electrification. Lunaz recognizes the importance of making Rolls-Royce ownership relevant for a new generation, while appealing to discerning individuals who value both luxury and sustainability.

Leading the technical team at Lunaz is Jon Hilton, formerly the technical director for Renault’s F1 team. Hilton’s expertise in engineering and engine development, including his work with Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso, underscores the meticulous engineering approach taken by Lunaz.

In a world where sustainability and luxury are no longer mutually exclusive, Lunaz’s fully-electric Rolls-Royces represent a harmonious blend of classic design, cutting-edge technology, and environmental responsibility. These masterpieces on wheels offer a glimpse into a future where iconic automobiles can be enjoyed without compromising our commitment to a cleaner, greener world.
