Previewing the Design of the Upcoming Rolls-Royce Spectre Set to Debut Later This Year

After its initial public testing appearance in late December, the Rolls-Royce Spectre has unveiled its overall framework, which bears a striking resemblance to the former Wraith model. The vehicle features a curved roof structure, an elongated front end, neatly framed windows, and signature coach doors, which open in reverse. It can be confidently stated that the design of the Rolls-Royce Spectre remains well within the existing aesthetic boundaries of Rolls-Royce, though it stands in stark contrast to the underlying drivetrain.
While seemingly trivial, a distinctive element likely to be retained in the Rolls-Royce Spectre is the sizable square-shaped Pantheon grille. It’s even plausible that the vertical slat structure could be completely preserved (albeit possibly in a simulated form), reminiscent of BMW’s integration of the kidney grille design into the iX and i4 models.
The anticipated launch of the Rolls-Royce Spectre is scheduled for late 2022, with widespread availability expected in 2023. The most enigmatic aspect of the coupe is its powertrain, as it remains unclear whether Rolls-Royce will independently develop an electric motor system specifically for the Spectre or utilize an existing platform, such as the one in the BMW iX SUV, which boasts a peak output nearing 600 horsepower.
Considering the starting price point of the electric Rolls-Royce, it’s safe to assume that, in line with the brand’s current offerings, it won’t dip below $300,000 USD.
