The Most Insane Wheel and Rim Modifications in the World
When everything seems too ordinary and mundane, customizing a car with wheels and rims unlike any other might just be the easiest way to attract attention.
Tesla Model 3 Upside Down with a Giant 3m Wheel
The WhistlinDiesel channel specializes in conducting the most terrifying durability tests and creating the most unique custom vehicles. Recently, Cody Detwiler and his team unveiled an unimaginable wheel modification for the Tesla Model 3. They raised the car’s chassis with horse wheels. Unlike the horse wheels used on the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, the Tesla Model 3 uses custom-made wheels with a diameter of up to 3 meters.
The purpose of the oversized wheels is not to lift the chassis but to position the Tesla high enough to flip it upside down without the roof touching the ground. With the help of an excavator, the team managed to flip the car, crawl inside, and drive away.
Four-Wheel Monster Customization for a Motorcycle
The WhistlinDiesel channel also caused a sensation with a metal spike rim customization for a large-displacement motorcycle. Cody Detwiler first removed car tires to obtain wheel rims. Then, he cut large metal spikes from scrap metal and welded them onto the existing rims.
To make these wheels more impressive, Cody Detwiler sprayed them with red and white paint for effect. Since the wheels are quite large and disproportionate to the motorcycle, Cody Detwiler had to redesign the frame, front and rear forks. The finished custom looks like a true off-road vehicle. However, it cannot legally roll on the road.
Volkswagen Minibus with Increased Wheel Size
A 1960s Volkswagen T1 Bully minibus was transformed to look like an 8-wheel tank. This custom, named Half-track Fox, was created by a German engineer named Kurt Kretzner.
The Fox has eight wheels, four on each side, none of which are original Volkswagen T1 Bully wheels.
Some wheels are wrapped in aluminum and rubber grooves designed by Kretzner to be chain-compatible like a tank. Once completed, the Volkswagen “tank” can go anywhere but at a fairly slow speed due to the engine’s power only being delivered to the rear wheels, and this is not an all-wheel-drive vehicle.
The vehicle is still equipped with the original 1.2-liter 4-cylinder engine, providing 33 horsepower.
Chevrolet Camaro with Oversized Chrome Rims
Images of the Chevrolet Camaro equipped with oversized chrome rims up to 30-35 inches are sure to be the center of attention wherever the car goes.
This car belongs to the famous rapper Chamillionaire. And to fit the “super oversized” wheels, the car customizer had to widen the wheel arch diameter and modify the suspension system accordingly.
