The Tattooist of Auschwitz (2022) – A Touching Story of Love and Survival

The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a six-episode limited series based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Heather Morris, which tells the true story of Lali Sokolov, a Jewish prisoner assigned to tattoo numbers onto the arms of other prisoners at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp during World War II.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz (2022)

The series stars Jonah Hauer-King as Lali Sokolov and Anna Próchniak as his love interest Gita Furman. Additionally, Harvey Keitel plays an older Lali Sokolov, and Melanie Lynskey plays Heather Morris, the author of the book.

Directed by Tali Shalom Ezer and written by Jacquelin Perske, the series is produced by Synchronicity Films in association with Sky Studios and Peacock. Production began in spring 2023.

The film’s score was composed by Hans Zimmer and Kara Talve, with the original song “Love Will Survive” performed by Barbra Streisand, and was released on April 25, 2024.

The film is now available on platforms such as Sky, Peacock and Stan.
